We did not take this lightly and further observed that libraries worldwide are also puzzled by this issue. Without a budget, they have to make do with brushes; those with a budget often resort to using vacuum cleaners or even purchasing expensive book washing machines. However, the thought of moving thousands of books up and down turns this into a massive undertaking.

The MicroFlat book dusting brush is washable and can be replaced with a DIY method if it wears out. Its unique connector is compatible with over 80% of commercially available round vacuum cleaner handles. It has obtained new utility and design patents from the Intellectual Property Office of Taiwan and several other countries. This invention elegantly and economically addresses the problems of sand, dust, and spores that modern libraries face, preserving valuable collections.
MicroFlat possesses four key features: lightweight, gentle, long, and flat. It allows library staff to clean without moving books. The operating principle of the MF Flounder Book Washer utilizes an industrial-grade vacuum motor and the MicroFlat Flounder dusting brush. Without moving the books, it draws dust and spores into the filtration system, preventing air pollution. The steps for cleaning books are as follows:
- Connect the main unit's power to a 110V outlet and unwind the power cord.
- Attach the hose to the main unit (rotate clockwise near the connection port).
- Connect the hose according to the desired suction power (use a single 3-meter hose for weak suction or two 3-meter hoses for strong suction) (twist the two hoses together to connect).
- Attach the MicroFlat to the vacuum handle and adjust the angle of the bent handle as needed.
- Use the top button on the vacuum to select the suction power (low/off/high) and the bottom button to switch between remote control/manual mode (manual mode can be used).
- [For remote control, use the remote and press the top button to turn on and the bottom button to turn off.]
- Position the brush parallel to the gaps on the book's surface, sliding back and forth to draw in dust and spores [for hardcover books, focus on the gaps for better dust removal].
- Repeat the above steps until all books are cleaned.
